OG zillion Spools and behavior

Post by goldrod » Thu Jun 04, 2020 12:50 pm

IP79 .485
TDZ 100M .545
Zillion PE LongCast .505

I love the PE long cast but line capacity may be an issue for you. It hasn’t been for me. I was surprised at how little the IP79 spool weighs

The IP 79 has the same spool as the J Dream, It is going to cast lighter weights than the standard zillion spool.

I’m trying to cast a weightless fluke 20# test on my power versatile rod and I can with ease. I was just seeing how far it would go down to.
I’m using the IP79 but do you feel that it’s the exact same reel as the JDREAM in the same gear ratio less cosmetics?
I know where I can get a JDream spool but I got an extra IP79 spool for $70 bucks. So I think that was a good deal

Thanks for the clarification

Of note the 100m spool is great in this platform too
Someone told me that but I’ve been testing and just ironing out the results

I’ve been wanting to try a 100m but I’m down to only one Zillion that I actually use, a 100P Crazy Cranker for deep cranking

The Zillion HLC spool is another good one in that reel. It launches frogs.

I've never fished either, but I thought the consensus was that the magnets on the IP were different, stronger I think.

I can’t feel or see a difference in my 7.9s
