Refreshed 13 concept reels

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

They are Banax. Injection molded frames are cheap to produce. Using the corrosion resistance of the material as a talking point for freshwater bass reels does smell a little funny. Polymer bushing as a talking point... I mean he is not wrong.

Assuming his native language isn't English - delivery reads harsh and we all read it harshly...

But if you stop and think about it... As you wrote...

You would be correct. I believe that Portuguese is his native language, since he is from Brazil.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

Anyone take the dive and try one of these refreshed concepts? I’d be interested to see if anyone has experience with the new C2

Been fishing them on and off the last month or so... casting performance is really good, but the brakes are just a hair temperamental for me. I like the Z SLD better than the C2, but that's probably just because it's the flagship. Very comfortable reels to fish.

Thanks for the feedback Cal, looking forward to the full write up on these. How effective is the slide feature? Does it serve well for micro adjustments or is it more of a gimmick?

Zander is in charge of the full write up for these reels, so I'm just kind of fishing them for fun. I like that slider feature on the new Z SLD, but it's not something i use during a cast, as it was designed, I'll side it full on or full off between casts, but not during. I personally think it's a cool feature. I love it when manufacturers think outside the tackle-box, but I'm also a fan of spiral wrapped guides, so there's that ;)

^^^Looks like they smoothed out that palm plate. That was one if my biggest dislikes about the 1st gen reels.
