I doubt you care. We’ll get more Stella FJ’s.
Ordered another tonight for a stick that the UPS guy (he fishes) delivered and was nice enough to lean against the garage out of the rain while I was at work. It was a tight race between another FJ or Exsence. Heck why not. I suspect I’m just going to convert all of my six spins over to them and be done with it.

Come to think of it, I could use a couple more

Unfortunately I heard from a reliable source there getting rid of the ci4

Probably means it will be replaced by the Exsence CI4+ or something new entirely. Can't imagine them leaving the lightweight market. Probably just want to separate it from the Stradic name.shimanogloomis man wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 8:50 amUnfortunately I heard from a reliable source there getting rid of the ci4

I can't see shimano getting rid of the stradic CI4+.
Its such a good seller for them. Its a great reel with a following. Thats money for shimano's pockets.

Yep, I call bullshit on discontinuing CI4. It's the best selling spinning reel for them. Why would they let Daiwa take all the glory in this price range.

I have done a few Bassmaster tournaments on smallmouth dominated waters as a co-angler. Never thought I could see so many Ci4 over such short period of time ... Shimano owns that niche!

NEW Shimano Vanford 2020
The all new Vanford is designed to become the ultimate finesse fishing reel with a super-fast start up.
Replacing the iconic Stradic Ci4+, this reel is equipped with a range of technology upgrades that sets the Vanford apart. Still drawing upon a lightweight Ci4+ body construction, the new MGL rotor makes the reel 48% lighter to turn when compared to a standard rotor design.
Micromodule Gear II and Silent Drive is featured in the new Vanford and the Hagane Gear has been upgraded for added strength. X-Protect provides high-level water resistance without sacrificing light gear and rotor rotation. This has increased the durability of the Vanford’s roller clutch and line roller to an IPX8 standard. By incorporating the new Long Stroke Spool design, casting performance has also been improved.
Perfect for a wide variety of fishing styles, the Vanford is built like no other. Available in from August 2020.

Couldn't find a meaning for Vanford...
But this come up - wonder if it'll be in the product description...?
V is for valiant, the way you approach life!
A is for accountable, someone to be counted on
N is for nurturing, the care you provide to all
F is for favorite, everyone's best friend.
O is for old fashioned, you cherish the past.
R is for relax, you know how!
D is for dandy, a DESCRIPTION.
