Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.
absolutely itching for that VFC2000HGF model for my ultralight trout setup. As far as I can understand it has a 1000 size body but 2000 size spool/rotor improving line management while keeping weight down. I guess the release was postphoned, preliminary info was all about august release.

When I measured my C2000s Ultegra compared to my 1000 size reels, spools are the same dimensions.

Ugh! When Shimano's smaller spinning reel spool sizes for the same numerical designations (e.g., its 2500 vs. Daiwa, Abu, and Pflueger's 2500) gave its reels a weight advantage in spec comparisons, Daiwa changed its decades-old size numbering to compete. Is Shimano doing the numbering downshift game again?
