Stradic CI4+ on clearnce...new model coming?

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

I don't like how it looks ](*,)
At least they didn't over do it with red accents.
Less red is better in my book

Meh. another rehash..., it looks like a bargain $25-50 reel, I was hoping for more.

So if your a fan of the FL Stradic you'll be pleased with the new Stradic Ci4+

So many common parts, other than aesthetics. Just look at both schematics between the two. Van Ford pictured...

Looks like absolute trash. Shameful at that price point. ](*,)

absolutely itching for that VFC2000HGF model for my ultralight trout setup. As far as I can understand it has a 1000 size body but 2000 size spool/rotor improving line management while keeping weight down. I guess the release was postphoned, preliminary info was all about august release.

When I measured my C2000s Ultegra compared to my 1000 size reels, spools are the same dimensions.

Ugh! When Shimano's smaller spinning reel spool sizes for the same numerical designations (e.g., its 2500 vs. Daiwa, Abu, and Pflueger's 2500) gave its reels a weight advantage in spec comparisons, Daiwa changed its decades-old size numbering to compete. Is Shimano doing the numbering downshift game again?

This was back years ago when I got my Ultegra, just swapped out spools with my Stradic FJ and did more measuring and was identical.

It's the independent 2000 (without the C denomination) size reels like the Stella's et al, that have that independent sizing from memory.
