I don't use spinning gear at all. Do you?
Got rid of all my spinning setups years ago, and they haven't been missed a single bit. Do you still use em?
Re: I don't use spinning gear at all. Do you?
Currently I have no reason to use spinning gear because I would miss baitcasting fishing then.
Re: I don't use spinning gear at all. Do you?
I prefer baitcasting tackle and use it most of the time. Once in a while when fishing from the coast, wind and waves and need for long casts can make me favor spinning gear. Moreover, I love my baitcasters and feel less affection for my spinning reels....I dislike salt in my baitcasters :-)
Re: I don't use spinning gear at all. Do you?
i use whatever seems appropo: casting, spinning, fly. i'm willing to throw an old black Zebco 33 i grabbed a while back or even my abu matic 170. i've even trolled. quality is my deciding factor. i don't like cheap or poorly designed gear.

Re: I don't use spinning gear at all. Do you?
I spent the first 25 years of my fishing career using a 5' UL spinning outfit because that's what the ol' man used and brought me up on. Once I got my hands on a baitcaster, I completely lost interest in using spinning setups. He's still using those types of setups and will out catch me just about any time we're out. Bass too!

So perplexed...
Spin for saltwater primarily, some spin reels for fresh also, but not as common.
But I do love to use baitcasters solely for freshwater situations, technically superior to spin for that accuracy and fish-ability. Spin has its place especially if its windy.
But nope both get a good rocking out when I can.

I own 3 spinning reels. Last time I used one of them was at the beach last summer. My brother, on the other hand, uses spinning gear exclusively.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

I only use spinning gear for fishing weightless senkos and trickworms.
Re: I don't use spinning gear at all. Do you?
I use spinning gear for bush fishing. Been doing more and more of it. There are some nice hidden spots if you are willing to machete your way to them.
Re: I don't use spinning gear at all. Do you?
Sure do. I have 2 spinning setups. I use them mostly for drop shot and small keitechs. Although I have BFS setups that can handle these weights, I like spinning rods for these. Also, small tubes work better on a spinning rod because I can get the lure to drop straight down.
Re: I don't use spinning gear at all. Do you?
Not enough to justify a high end setup. I do like holding the rod in a overhanded grip with the reel suspended below for hopping and shaking. Spinning rods work well for me with drop shots and shaky heads. I would like to put together a budget nice drop shot rig out of a Revros and maybing a Kuying stick.
Re: I don't use spinning gear at all. Do you?
I use my Stella and Exist reels paired with rebuilt my DSR820S GLX sticks far more than any of my BFS setups.

I don’t even own a spinning combo. Mainly fish inshore in Florida on the Gulf Coast, so I’m definitely different.

I tried doing the “Spin Free Zone” for a couple of years a lo-o-o-ong time ago. It was actually not too bad but eventually I needed it for some places I was fishing. Fast forward 25 years, I could probably go to no spinning gear with even less of a probably but I keep a Certate 2500/MB Brigand for certain occasions.

I prefer short BFS gear for bush fishing. The one handed casting is really nice in that thick brush.
