Tackle Direct is showing expected availability at the end of August, but I am not seeing much else out there. Nothing on TW yet. Hopefully soon, I want one.

that thing is so sick. i know there's some complaints about the color scheme but I love it. I'm tired of the same old black and silver. add some spices. juice em up like how daiwa used to with yellow, red, etc481VSangler wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 5:15 amTackle Direct is showing expected availability at the end of August, but I am not seeing much else out there. I guess I'm in the minority in so far as I really love the IMX-Pro rods I have. I have three, one 853C JWR, and two 852C JWR, and none of them are tip heavy. All of them are perfectly put together, perfect guides, and really nice cork. At the price I paid for them from $209-$260, I think they are a fantastic rods. I always find it easy to get Loomis rods at a discount, you just have to look around. I got the one for $209 used, but it was unfished.
I do think the Curado K 70 would make a wicked combo on one of my 852C rods.

I'm the same way. I like a little color to accent the reel without overdoing it and that green fits the bill for my taste. I'd love to see the Scorpion color scheme on some US reels too. I love my MGL, both for performance and looks. Just checked and the 70 is up on TW with a stock date of Oct 5th.Chode wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 8:58 amthat thing is so sick. i know there's some complaints about the color scheme but I love it. I have a 71HG on the way from TW. When I looked on their website on Sunday morning there were 6 lefties available so I ordered one. A few hours later they were all sold out.

Re: New Curado 70 mgl K
Pretty sure this reels gonna be the greatest thing since i was born. Curado hasn't excited me since the e7 but i think this 70 mgl is the real deal
Re: New Curado 70 mgl K
If you don't mind a less line capacity then check out the 70 based Engetsu too. It's a micro mod Curado 70 with a 105 mm handle and aluminum side plate. The shallow but heavy spool really bombs baits with braid. It pairs well to a Zodias in a ML or M power.

Dang, they all must have gone quick if they're already shipping. I just figured there was some sort of delay with the release. Have looked on a few other sites and they still have the pre-order status for them.

We have a few popping up on the German market and the fellow anglers who could get one (not me) were so nice to post the spool‘s weight:

I was shocked that left hand reels were available before right hand reels.481VSangler wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2020 5:00 amDang, they all must have gone quick if they're already shipping. My Curado 71HG MGL K arrived from TW yesterday. The reel is the same color as the 200 K series. Not crazy about the black nose piece but it still looks good. The reel is smooth. The line capacity remains the same. I love the 90mm handle. The knobs and end caps are a new design. The knobs are similar to the ones found on the Bantam but they are thinner. I noticed the gear ratio on the HG model is slightly higher than the previous model . I am hoping to fish with it this weekend.

Re: New Curado 70 mgl K
I did some testing with my new 71HG MGL this past weekend. On Saturday I did some yard casting comparing the new Curado MGL and the original Curado 71. Both reels had the same 30 pound braid, the same 3/8oz jig, and the same rod. During long distance casting the MGL casted between 5 to 12 feet further on every single cast. The MGL was also a little more accurate. The MGL was also better at pitching. On Sunday I went fishing. I used the MGL to pitch jigs, and cast swim jigs and Chatterbaits. The reel under load was super smooth. The MGL is a big upgrade over the original. The longer handle is a plus. The new knobs are a lot better although I still prefer the bigger power knobs found on the 201 K. The cast control cap is also tighter and stays in place. The original reels cap sometimes loosens while fishing. The MGL is a keeper.
