2020 Twin Power - anyone with feedback?

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

2020 Twin Power - anyone with feedback?

Post by jerkbait22 » Tue Jul 21, 2020 4:13 pm

Anyone have feedback on the new Twin Power? I'm looking at a new spinning reel in the $300 - $400 price range and this is a candidate. I've been having trouble finding any info whatsoever other than marketing videos.

Can anyone help?

I know it's made in Japan. They have certainly not promoted it like the other reels. They did the same thing with the spheros sw inshore , didn't want to steal any thunder from the stradic FL, and now they are doing it with the Vanford. If you get one please report back , I'd love to know how it works out.

Have one on the way, will report back once I'm able to get my hands on it.

Sadly I received my twin power but there is an issue with something rubbing when I turn the handle. I am sending it back but undecided on what the replacement will be. I spoke to another TT member who had the same exact issue so I'm leery of exchanging it for another.

I bought a couple Twin Power reels this Spring and they have performed very well, never an issue. It’s noticeably more refined than my Sustain Fl or Stradic CI4’s.

I happened to get a great deal on a Daiwa Certate a few months ago and since fishing the reels side by side I would pick the Certate. I know the Certate is 50 dollars more but I think it’s worth it...and I’m usually a Shimano guy.

The Certate LT is a tough act to follow, it is right on par with the Stella in my opinion, I have been very happy with mine so far.
