Steez A gears?

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Steez A gears?

Post by iabass8 » Tue Sep 01, 2020 12:21 pm

Anybody got an inside on where to get replacements? need either a 6:3 LH or 7:1 LH.

Plat won't ship these specific gear sets aborad because daiwa won't let them ship magsealed parts for some reason.

I ordered a set from Daiwa US (was only 50$...surprisingly cheap) but it won't even ship from there for 2.5-3 weeks due to pandemic backlog.

TT only has Steez SVTW gears listed.

Send me a PM or email with the specific part numbers you'd like (G44-4444 format for example)... TT special orders parts for customers all the time and Daiwa typically ships our orders pretty quickly.

Interesting as I have bought a few sets of Steez A gears from PLAT without any issues. Have only had issues getting gears for mag sealed spin reels. As daiwa Japans reasoning is you must send the reel to them or a authorized Daiwa service centre for repair and servicing. The magseal in a baitcaster is just a magsealed bearing in the side plate supporting the pinion.

This whole return to base / won't supply parts to non nominated service departments thing is a bit of a joke... If not anti competitive behaviour if they understand this at all...
