More new Tatula models...

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

More new Tatula models...

Post by IlliniDawg01 » Tue Sep 29, 2020 3:57 pm

In case everyone was waiting on a new Tatula CT, your prayers have been answered. Looks like a new paint job... exciting.

There is also now a Tatula 300 for big baits in the style of the newer Tatula 100. That is at least moderately interesting.

Daiwa is such a mess in the baitcasters department. Ever since Shimano released the Bantam, Daiwa cannot compete. And now that Met2020 is a thing, what's the Daiwa's answer to that? Another Tatula, or two, or three. Great😭

Daiwa’s tatula obsession is a little overboard, but they have been right up my alley, lately. The new 300 I’ll be giving a go next year bobber fishing kings. The new BG MQ will also be a salmon crankbait reel for me next year, as well. I’m optimistic for the new Procyon Al for steelhead this season. I want to get my hands on one before I order, though. I’ve only bought Daiwa reels this past year and am living off late model Shimanos for my lighter tackle fishing.

Truth be told, I’d glom on to a couple factory 8.1 Tatula 150‘S all spuzzed up like the Elite Long Cast, if they were so inclined to make them. I’ll likely be talking to the Tackle Trap and see if the Magician can work me up something in the mean time. The tatula line, both casting and spinning, are great secondary reels in my arsenal for change-up rigs and loaners to decent tackle handlers.

There are aftermarket long cast spools for the Tatula 150.

If I recall, people had the same sentiment about the Zillion after they discontinued the TD-Z ...

Yea just waiting on some other ratio versions of the Zillion 10 Like Zillion 7 (7.1:1) Zillion 6 (6.3:1)
That will be my next purchase.

Anyone hear of 2021 releases ?

Quantity over quality. People like to have million combos in their boats and very few will opt for top of the line reel on all.
Tatula line covers every technique one can ever think of at very accessible price.

Difference if the good filters down with higher end frames etc going into cheaper / BB lines with the name change, but to have cheaper lines with their frames and internals going into higher end gear that's my issue.

Good cost saving measure although for the big wigs.

I had to retire my TDZ 100HA last year. If Daiwa would bring that model back I would still be a Daiwa only guy. I tried the Tat SVTW and the 100 and neither performed as well as my stock TDZ.

A revised tribal spider, and each Tatula comes with a round of Jager bombs and a bottle of Drakkar Noir.
