Which Steez?
The wife and kids want to throw in and buy me a reel for Christmas. Dumb questions ahead, do the current ones have free floating spools? Do any of them have the magforce Z system comparable to say the old Zillions? Leaning toward the A or CT for now. Sorry for the dumb questions, looking for all around use for T rigs to chatter/spinner and maybe light square bill use.

Re: Which Steez?
Like that one but dont really need another finesse oriented reel. Another stupid question, are there JDM models with any better features?
Re: Which Steez?
Different ratios. The Steez A 8.1 is JDM only
If you want a JDM “Steez”, check out a Morethan PE1000XH-TW.
It’s one sick reel that isn’t in the hands of many people.

Little too fast, looking to get a 6.3:1 for all around use.
Re: Which Steez?
Still faster, but the PE1000SH-TW is a 7.1:1 (29 inches) if that helps. It is a really cool JDM "Steez".filthyPhil wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 12:57 pmLittle too fast, looking to get a 6.3:1 for all around use.

Re: Which Steez?
Yes, the Steez A is Mag-Z and most closely comparable, though significantly nicer in my opinion, than the original Zillion. I'm a fan of the original Zillion and still have a few that I use from time to time, but the Steez A gets a lot more use in my line up. The Steez CT is incredible, but keep in mind the limited line capacity if you start using 15# and higher line for casting spinner baits or chatter baits. Yes, the CT is smaller and lighter and definitely better at casting finesse/light baits, but the A is a solid work horse that can hold its own when casting 1/4 oz T-rigs and 1.5 sized square bills for example. You'll be very happy with either, just make sure you choose the one that best suits your intended applications and line size requirements.filthyPhil wrote: ↑Tue Nov 10, 2020 8:40 pmThe wife and kids want to throw in and buy me a reel for Christmas. Thanks for the rundown, I'm leaning towards the A.

Just grab a Steez SV TW. There isn't much it can't do. Still my favorite reel, especially with the Zpi Nrc001-m spool.

I had a Tatula SV that I think had the same braking system as the Steez SV and wasn't a fan. It might have been a defective reel because I couldn't get it to cast very well so I would prefer the magforce z over the air brake system.

Re: Which Steez?
The SV braking system might be the same but the spool characteristics are pretty different. Maybe someone with both reels can chime in on the specific differences.filthyPhil wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 6:34 pmI had a Tatula SV that I think had the same braking system as the Steez SV and wasn't a fan. The are lots of SV spools with vastly different castings characteristics , some are tuned to be better short range accuracy casting spools while others are tuned to be long bombers and everything in between.
Re: Which Steez?
I’m probably missing something but why would you pay so much more for an SV when you throw a different spool in it? Wouldn’t the A with the ZPI be practically the same for a lot less $$$?Hogsticker2 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 4:19 pmJust grab a Steez SV TW. There isn't much it can't do. Re: Which Steez?
It refers to a specific type of spool rotor cup actuation, namely the rotor rides on a ramp to force it into the magnetic gap in the sideplate. It is basically another Magforce variation.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.
