Zillion sv TW 1000

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

I am being told the Zillion will be in a JDM & USDM version. JDM made in Japan Aluminum Gears and super smooth, little smaller handle probably 80mm. Us version brass gears, little longer handle.

The zillion TW 1000 that is out for purchase right now in Japan has duralumin gears and a 90mm handle.

I was told a little smaller handle than the Us version, I assumed US at 90, but I honestly dont know the size, I just guessed at the 80. Us version is being made in Thailand. Thats what my Daiwa dealer is telling me. He did say he hadnt had a Us version in hand yet.

Be very odd to have one version made in Thailand and another made in Japan, especially at the higher price point you wouldn't expect the same high unit sales... but they have had Japan made Ballistics I think when the majority are made in China.

speaking to who tried this reel....do you think it can handle hard hooksets whith 20# fluoro and a flipping stick, or frogging with 50#braid? the aluminum gears scares me a little...

Ordered saturday from jpangler....at my door monday morning....wow.

Initial thoughts are this real is A lot smaller than I anticipated and it is very similar in form to the steez svtw/a. It is butter smooth and the drag clicker audibly sounds a little louder than the steez A but that could just be my room.

The boost spool fits perfectly in the steez svtw.

This reel is awesome....

Our Australian members have used the Steez A to land 40# barramundi on a consistent basis with no reported gear failures. So I'm sure Daiwa's duralumin gears will hold up just fine to flipping for bass.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

Nice work. If the USDM one really has brass gears then here is our parts for brass conversion if needed for Steez TW platform reels.

Just received the new Zillion and noticed there's no pawl cap. Seems like a new design? Unfortunately the schematics weren't included so I can't verify. For those of you who have the new Zillion, is yours like this also? Just wanted to confirm before I contact the seller. Thanks!
