Zillion sv TW 1000

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Let's hope this was truly a fluke. Sucks for OP be nice if that part could be replaced.

Rick
I'm sure it will be a while before parts are readily available, but I'll start digging around soon and see what I find out.

Casey Yoern at Daiwa has always been good about helping me out. His email is his first name at daiwa.com.

From Daiwa USA site. Can anyone confirm line capacity on this 1000 size zillion. Daiwa is pretty weird from 100. 103 105 now we have 70/700, 800 and 1000.
Yes, we told them about it as soon as we saw it... they just still haven't taken the time to correct it ](*,)

Per the actual box... 14lb (0.31mm) 90m (100 yds.) and 16lb (0.33mm) 80m (85 yds.)

I have mine spooled up with 18# J-Fluoro Samurai and have been launching vibrating jigs and spinner baits with it... no line capacity issues here. This is a very impressive reel indeed.

I contacted Plat two days ago and they have since added the new Zillion, in all of its versions, to the parts availability listings and I have ordered some of the "small" parts as backup. While their listings included all of the reels' parts, there are some parts that not yet available, but they informed me that they will hopefully be available soon.

Regards,
Walter

Hi Sirs, I'm looking to match a good reel for my jerkbait rod ( burrough 68M ) and I don't know which one to choose... my two options are new Zillion or new alphas SV... the main weight of my jerkbaits are mainly 1/2 and 3/8 oz so...

Which one would you choose?

Many thanks in advance.

Another question with new zillion...
Anybody think that new zillion could be used as swimbait reel for medium swimbaits mostly of them glidebaits?

Yes, as long as you go with braid. Also, if that's your intended use, the USDM model with brass gears would be a safer bet.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

Not enough capacity I would think. Its a shallow 34mm spool. I recently bought a Zillion HD for this reason just to get a wide 36mm spool.

It's the one that all US retailers are stocking, including the Tackle Trap and TW. The JDM model has duralumin gears.
