At this point, it's pure speculation. Let a few more folks get them in hand to get a well-rounded opinion of them....or buy one and see for yourself. If it doesn't do as well with skipping as you hope, then put another SV spool in it, and move the Boost spool to a distance setup, say a reel for traps or spooks.Bandersnatch wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 2:48 pmThis is concerning as my main focus of trying dawia reels is for dock skipping. This new zillion was to go on one of my dock skipping rods hmmmm

Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

I've seen quite a few dudes skipping in the Japanese videos. These reels may actually excel at it.LowRange wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 2:28 pmProbably way worse at skipping but there are a ton of 34mm SV spools that excell at skipping that can be swapped in.Bandersnatch wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 6:34 amQuestions about the booster sv spool. It the promo videos there's a good amount on focus on casting distance. If you were buying sv reels to skip as thier primary focus do you think this new booster spool may be less stable at skipping?
Re: Zillion sv TW 1000
Any reel can skip including literal antiques if set up correctly and skipping a friendly enough bait so I always take any skipping vids I see with a grain of salt. I need to see it skip thumb free like the vid that sold me on Daiwa, the Alphas and SV spools. I legit sometimes don't even thumb the spool with my Alphas SV with 5 in senkos when skipping with zero spool tension. This was the only impressive skipping video I have ever seen in that the reel just made it look effortless.Hogsticker2 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 8:07 pmI've seen quite a few dudes skipping in the Japanese videos. Re: Zillion sv TW 1000
For those with experience with 2020 Mets and 2021 zillion, how do they compare from a physical size perspective?
Is the zillion more compact? Palm better? Sit higher or lower on the reel seat?
I’ll prolly order a zillion anyways once they get back in stock, just curious on size comparison between the two.
Honestly, I’m actually interested if the zillion is as compact as a Lews slp frame. So if anybody has any comparisons with like a Pro TI that would be appreciated as well.

Based on what I have been reading, I am sold. Looked around some to find best price and amazon jp has them for $331 delivered, Its not in stock, but the best price I can find. I don't need it, buy I want it. I still have a new, unopened Met B that I had to have last spring. So that is my favorite all around reel. Maybe this Zillion will be better.
Re: Zillion sv TW 1000
The zillion for me is more compact and palms better than the metanium. Everyone hands are different but from my perspective the metanium is just a tad bulkier than the zillion. Really come down to personal preference.CFDoc wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 5:16 pmFor those with experience with 2020 Mets and 2021 zillion, how do they compare from a physical size perspective?

I did hope the zillion would be slightly smaller than it is. I actually prefer the 70 and smaller sized reels. I compared the zillion to my met b's tonight and the differences are hard to tell. I think the zillion sits just a tad be lower on my rods than the metanium. It feels like it's a bit shorter front to back as well but not much. If you're just eyeballing them they look the same.CFDoc wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 5:16 pmFor those with experience with 2020 Mets and 2021 zillion, how do they compare from a physical size perspective?

Good to hear, the Met felt long as I like to wrap my pointer finger around the nose.Bandersnatch wrote: ↑Tue Dec 29, 2020 6:03 pmI did hope the zillion would be slightly smaller than it is. Here’s a few pics I took of a Met and SLP Lews sitting on a reel seat. The SLPs are noticeably lower profile and the ‘roundness’ of the Met is very noticeable in the palm. I feel it’s not as comfortable as the SLP reels when roll casting for skipping.
In your opinion, the zillion sits like the Met?

Well now I’m back to thinking I won’t order a zillion and just stick with Lews for my skipping lol.Bandersnatch wrote: ↑Tue Dec 29, 2020 6:03 pm

I probably should anyways. I’m a huge fan of my hyper mags and Pro TIs. Just looking for an excuse to buy at this point.

Re: Zillion sv TW 1000
How about the width? I always felt T-Wing Reels are a little harder to get the index finger in front because of the width, making room for the T-wing. (except for the steez ct / air) If it‘s close to the Met B in this regard, the Zillion 1000 should be a winner.Bandersnatch wrote: ↑Tue Dec 29, 2020 6:03 pmI did hope the zillion would be slightly smaller than it is. Re: Zillion sv TW 1000
I am being told the Zillion will be in a JDM & USDM version. JDM made in Japan Aluminum Gears and super smooth, little smaller handle probably 80mm. Us version brass gears, little longer handle.
