Zillion sv TW 1000

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Asymmetric thumb bar, Magnetic brake under the side plate.
Definetely a Daiwa Curado K
:)
Don't forget the Shimano like handle nut retainer and hidden handle side screws. The new knobs are also very Shimano like.

It really does look like a Shimano..... :-k
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

To me it looks like a larger Steez CT.
It would look good on a Tatula Elite rod

What's the SV Boost? The reel itself looks like it would palm like an old TDZ which is nice...just probably a little lower. Add a silver star, silver SLP knobs and I am good. :)
2 stage induction rotor. The new Steez SV TW LTD has it as well.

The new Zillion, Ltd Steez, and Alphas SV TW all look near identical. I guess Daiwa doesn't care about appearance anymore, and are taking the Shimano approach now.

I’ll probably stick with the Zillion 10s till they pry it from my cold, dead hands.

I don't understand the design team. Wouldn't you want to separate yourself from the competition?

These are all $300+ and have no cool factor to me. No colored bumpers on a Zillion? Maybe bring back some purple into the Alpha. Steez LTD is kinda cool but again, the Anteres has been around since I've been on this forum.

The design elements and move away from brass gears has me looking at Shimano harder than ever. It is almost like they want to me to.

Interesting! Is there any information of this 2 Stage inductor available?

I'll most likely grab one. The new SV Boost spool sounds cool.

I'm sure Daiwa is well aware about the aluminum gear issue in the Metanium. Let's hope the new gears are well engineered to withstand some abuse.

Daiwa's aluminum gears in the Steez haven't had the same widespread problem as Shimano's from what I've seen. That and the fact they're not micro gears (if the translation is correct) gives me some confidence.

I don't know if the gears are "micro" but it does talk about tooth size reduction. It sounds to me that this is Daiwa's version if you will.

At 42K JPY I will get this before the new steez at 70K.
They share most technologies.

6.18 ounces sure is light for a Zillion. Cars, reels, and almost everything has gone to the sleeker beveled edge look. This was kind of expected. I think the spool is the most intriguing. Daiwa using the word "Hyper" so much in the description makes me think that this thing might have ADHD!

Wow. All this sniping and pearl clutching...pretty funny  Makes me want one even more now. I'm in big time!

Or maybe they really were feeling some German electronic music nostalgia in their brainstorming sessions

I like the reel, as they went for the design details I was leaning over to Shimano.
