2021 Shimano Reels

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Hopefully something with HEG gears in it and get rid of the crappy micros.
What reels with micro gears have given you trouble?

None, cause I dont own them, other than my CQ100. But that is too new yet, and have only used it a few times. But have changed tons of gear sets on Ks, Aldes, Mets with MM gears because they noisy. Way too fast, and not even abused. Its sad. There was nothing wrong with HEG.

They will just ruin the heritage name like they have done to most of them. Since the Core was the USDM Aldebaran.

Speaking on micro modules going bad... everyone got me worried about my Chronarch MGL and I started noticing the "buzz". It does have a sound to it, but honestly it gets the job done fine. I'm not sure about Metanium aluminum micros though, heard mixed reviews concerning them. Do the Bantams hold up well???

I’ve replaced the gears in both my Chronarch MGLs at least twice now. Unbelievably smooth at the start and then basically sandpaper by the middle of next season, even with a mid season lube and winter deep clean. Haven’t heard anything regarding the Bantams though.

I agree, because it does not have micro gears. It does mention Silectdrive though.
