Cal,

Do you happen to know when these products will be available?
By their own forecast, March/April for the right handed reels May/June for lefties... Shimano is staying true to their typical schedules - assuming they're not impacted by pandemic slow downs.

Curious to see what upgrades the new Exsence has. I've been in the market for a new spinning reel and was waiting for the Certate to come back in stock. I may hold off until more details come out around the 21 Exsence.

Is anyone aware if there will be any special releases from Shimano for their centennial celebration in March?

Cheers

I read a rumor back in December of a Stella 100th Anniversary edition, but since it is missing from this announcement, doesn’t look like that reel is forthcoming unless Shimano North America reveals it at ICAST... seems odd that Japan would skip though.

That would be pretty awesome :) I would love a stella in Scorpion burgundy with a black spool like the Vanquish.

I need another reel like a hole in my head!! Picked up a Conquest BFS and a Curado 70 MGL in Nov and I "need" a '21 Conquest 101HG. I have RADD sorry guys!!! It's bad!! How are they MGL enabling the DC Antares? I understand the concept but you have to have a rotor to engage that so how much can you really drop on the spool?!?!

Will Shimano release any info on the rods during this Japan show?

Look on the Shimano Japan website. They released a lot of new rods and generation updates. All new generation of Glorious lineup, Ultima 5-piece BFS and 74MH+, etc etc.

Anyone know if the line capacity on the Conquest 100 has been reduced since the spool diameter also went down? It was possible to spool it on a cast before depending on line size, if they reduced it further that might take it out of more applications for me personally.

I noticed they upped the conquest hg ratio to 7.4. If they kept center to center the same as the old conquest that means there may be a brass 7.4 ratio gear set that will fit the aldebaran now.

Does anyone have any details on the new Scorpion DC I have seen pics of? Should I just grab another of the current Curado DC or is the enough new coming that I should wait?

No more x ship for conquest, we have infinyty drive, looks to be one bearing is gone from the pinion support or am I missing something?
Lots of good improvements, not all of them are easy to figure out based on the limited info: additional bearing to support the handle shaft ( to eliminate back play?) The 100 size is sitting 2 mm lower comparing to the older model.

XShip may have been changed out with Infinity drive. If you look closely you still have two bearings supporting the pinion.

Plus it has a drag clicker!! Way cool!!
