Spinning Reel with AntiReverse Switch
Since Shimano discontinued their anti-reverse switch on their spinning reels, I was wondering if there was a spinning reel preferably made in Japan that still has them.
I am aware that the Tatula still has them but I’m trying to not buy anything made in China (which is a gigantic pain). I am looking at pictures of the made in Japan Certate and it looks like there is no anti-reverse switch. I’m cool with Malaysian or Vietnamese made reels too.

What's wrong with made in china?
I have quite a few reels made in china and they have been great.
No issues with them at all.

Re: Spinning Reel with AntiReverse Switch
It’s a choice political in nature, so I just left it at “not made in China” so as not to bring political conversation into a fishing forum. I’ve bought Chinese made rods and reels before that were good quality but I’ve decided to not buy anything made there.

“ This new 18' Exist LT series will cope with the highest demands and expectations of fisherman. The MagSealed construction blocks water and debris entering the reel body and prolongues the life span of the reel. The anti-reverse lever has been re-designed to provide faster access and better protection to the reel´s internal mechanism. ”

Re: Spinning Reel with AntiReverse Switch
So I assumed the Certate didn’t have the switch because I couldn’t see it in the pictures, but it looked that way to me with the Exist as well. Does that mean I was incorrect and the Certate does have the switch somewhere too?ftl1951 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 6:41 pmAn excerpt from Daiwa Germany Catalogue -

The 19 Certate does not have the anti-reverse switch. The 18 Exist does.Scud_Muffin wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 5:40 pmSo I assumed the Certate didn’t have the switch because I couldn’t see it in the pictures, but it looked that way to me with the Exist as well. Awesome, thanks y’all! Appreciate the tips!

That reel will outlive you. I just got a couple of C3s in for service, nobody has cracked them open in nearly 40 years to my knowledge. They still work fine, the owner just wanted them refreshed.

Agreed sir. I know the originals very well. Back in the day we cut the bails off them. I’m dating myself. I’ve asked Jun at Japan Tackle to find me a couple of the “new” totincanary wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 3:34 amThat reel will outlive you. adorn a couple of Slider rods (really dating myself). I do get a kick out of seeing the Daysprout version on glass in a lot of the Japan trout videos. What’s old is new again.
