2022 Daiwa Silver Creek Air TW Stream Custom

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

They keep coming out with new bfs/trout reels:

28 mm spool, fixed inductor, low line capacity.
Looks nice…

Line capacity actually decent - they recommend no more than 40m and both 0.6 and 0.8 PE is 40m.

Looks really nice! I'm feeling lucky that I have just purchased GekkaBijin. Because in the other case I would go crazy when thinking which I should buy. And then someone would offer a Tackletour Special Solution ™️. :D

I know I am getting it. January release means a chilly time filming for me but...it must be done.

I don't know but that brown and gold trim reminds me too much of an early 2000s Pinnacle or something.

Finally my prayers have been answered a new BFS reel that doesn't look like a kids toy. Now Shimano where is our new aldebaren? Get with the program.

Comparing price recommendations of:

SILVER CREEK AIR TW STREAM CUSTOM: 47,200 Yen
to
GekkaBijin Air TW PE Special: 45,400 Yen

GekkaBijin costs in JapanTackle $392.00
This indicates Silver Creek will be something $408.

Silver Creek seems Fresh Water Only...

Differences of reels are obviously following:

- Colour
- Knobs
- Spool
- Bearings (Silver Creek is Fresh Water Only)

Other?

Finally, something without red or purple accents. That's my next reel purchase!

Where it is made is a sidenote, for me anyway. My alphas sv tw is a great reel, every bit as smooth and tight as any other high end Daiwa.
