Daiwa's new reel??

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Heavy metal flake on the frame with a different finish on the side plates too.

Personally, I quite like the Steez SV TW platform. It's my favorite, slightly edging out the T3. Just fished my brand new Steez CT yesterday - also fantastic in the hand. Then again, can't go wrong with the time proven classic Alphas. Tdz is a pretty good too. Do I really need yet another reel? Duh, of course I do!

They need to redesign the steez tw (steez ct is perfectly fine as is, tho). That frame is outdated compared to a much less expensive reel, the zillion.
Agreed, the current Steez has gotten "long in the tooth", so to speak.
When the old steez became outdated is when we got the ss line of reels.

I was thinking the same thing. :|

I agree with those that think the frame is based on the Steez A/SV TW.

Part 2 is up now:

Looks like the brake dial is lower like the Zillion and Alphas...

Notice the screw hole in the handle side plate in the top reel is absent in the bottom reel. Also the top reel has a frame that matches the Steez TW and the bottom reel frame matches the Alphas SV.

Wonder if it will be the 32mm or 28mm spool. I'd assume 32mm based on line capacity/depth.

Concur, definitely the alphas tw. Judging by the spool/frame junction it looks like a shallow 32mm spool.

I hope it is a shallow Alphas. Or a CT SVTW Alphas would be cool. Just makes me wish I had waited and bought both shallows.

It’s all black, it’s not an air and it’s probably cheaper via Amazon.jp than the sv tatula. Come to daddy!
