Metanium shallow edition

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

I have had one for about two months or so.
Its pretty much a regular metanium with a slightly more shallow spool.
I haven't really compared it too much between the shallow version and the regular one.
I do feel the shallow version does cast lighter lures slightly better but I haven't tried throwing really light lures with it. I just bought it for lighter Texas rigs - 3/16 weight with 6" trick worm.
If you have some steez already, I don't see any point in getting this reel. Unless you just want it, I can't see any advantages. I do like the more silver look over the darker gray of the regular one.

No real advantage other than throwing slightly lower weighted lures.

I bought one to use for flipping/punching since I don't need high line capacity. Then I found out it had aluminum gears and got rid of it. Hard pass for me. I'll stick the regular Metanium MGL 20.
