Gomexus handle question.

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Gomexus handle question.

Post by arrowslinger1 » Sun Jul 24, 2022 2:10 pm

Suppose I buy a gomexus shimano handle that already has knobs on it, can I remove those knobs and put factory shimano knobs on it?
Do their brand specific handles accept brand specific handles only use gomexus knobs?

The Gomexus knobs fit Shimano and Daiwa handles so I imagine the reverse is true for handles that come with the TPE knobs. The carbon handles won't take Daiwa knobs.

The "brand specific" tagging on gomexus is mainly for the shaft size. Shimano uses a 7x4 shaft while Daiwa uses an 8x5.
And yes you can install factory shimano knobs on the Gomexus handle. You will just need the right spacing in between the bearings. The handles come with the spacers and also the washers to get everything nice and tight.

Gomexus handles use a shimano post set up, Shimano knobs will fit but not Daiwa knobs. If buying individual knobs they come with a spacer to fit on Daiwa handles.

I love the huge Gomexus TPE knobs. I've replaced all my handles with Gomexus now. It was costly, but cranking is sooooo much smoother and more powerful now.

TPE knobs are good. The cork knobs are even better. And now they have a even larger TPE 30mm knob to go with the 120mmm handles.

Question has been answered. :D

I'm liking the Gomexus stuff for the price! Everything has been good that I've purchased. Smooth, free spinning knobs, handles with good fitment and finish. Liking the dragstar on my swimbait reels as well.

As much as I like enthusiast stuff... hundreds of dollars for a handle and knobs is line I can't cross.
