Finesse/BFS reel for distance casting?

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Also, "15 lb braid" is a broad statement.
I was talking about Daiwa J Braid Grand 8x. That's my #1 choice at the moment, after used 55lbs Daiwa Samurai for about 15 years. According to the specs, 30lbs Berkley x9 (which I also like) is thinner than 20lbs Daiwa J Braid Grand 8x, but I feel the Daiwa is thinner. It's either Berkley is totally lying, they use different ways to measure the line thickness, or I just can't tell  .

My guess is that a lot of fishing line manufacturers do not provide accurate diameter specs for their various rated lines, especially with braid.
