Scorpion DC vs SLX DC

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

My first choice would be 2022 SLX DC XT 70 and second would be 2017 scorpion DC 100.
The SLX DC XT come with MGL spool and shallower spool make it very capable of everything from light to heavy. Some said 70i DC but to me 70K dc would be more suitable. MGL spool, Main shaft support bearing, these are in K era not i. The only things that represent SLX are main shaft bushings (easy upgrade) and plastic anti reverse ratchet.
Sadly to say, I’m selling my SLX DC XT 71XG.

Have you by chance had a crack at the 23 slx dc? I am about to order a couple of the 22’s but noticed that the 23 is a hair cheaper. I see the 23 is listed with the IDC4 but a new upgraded version.

No, actually there used to be SLX DC 70 with modified spool (blue) to be narrower, the new version only change with MGL shallower spool for 70.
You pay a little more on 2022 SLX DC XT but you get quality of Curado class reel. Just i-DC5 alone is worth extra money, one piece aluminum star drag make it a lot easier to maintenance. Most importantly the more comfortable to palm size reel (if you prefer smaller reel)
