Curious about this too, I have one and was considering using it for saltwater. It is magsealed as far as I know the same as the silver wolf which is marketed as a saltwater reel.

Used both the original A and the a2 in salt with no problems aside from the original A paint issues, assuming you keep up with the normal amount of maintenance any low pro in the salt requires.Shadowcaster1969 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 24, 2023 7:27 pmHi, Has anyone been using the 2023 Steez A II TW series of reel in Saltwater? Is the 2022 Jdm Steez A 2 the same as the 2023 USDM STEEZ A 2?

Thanks for sharing your experience with the A2 in the salt! Just as I was about the pull the trigger on the A2, unfortunately or fortunately, the announced the launch of the 2024 SV TW, which means that they may just launch a 2024 Morethan later this year.... decisions desisions....

aside from the reel seat of my rod chewing up the paint around the reel foot (my dumb ass forgot to tape it up that’s on me) it hasn’t bubbled and cracked like the original steez A yet, been fishing it in the salt since late december of 2022 (bought a jdm one as soon as it was available.)

just note if you like to tinker with your reels and/or are a spool junkie the new steez sv isn’t compatible with the daiwa as bread and butter 34mm spools. New one is a 32mm. Also it’d probably be a while until a new morethan considering daiwa just dropped the a2 and they’d either be bold or stupid to clutter their catalog with an alu version of the 24 this early in the steez a2 lifecycle for a new morethan. also it usually takes them a bit to slightly change the production tooling and process for the alu version. Remember the original sv tw was 2016 and the original A tw came out a year later in 2017, morethan came way later in 2019.Shadowcaster1969 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2024 4:00 amThanks for sharing your experience with the A2 in the salt! Aside from maybe the color being slightly different (it’s hard to tell from the product photos, all the usdm product pictures make it look like a straight dark grey while the jdm in my hand is a deep blue grey but it could just be the lighting) they’re exactly the same. same spool, same handle length, same gear cut and material, same same sameReal Pudd legend wrote: ↑Sat Jan 27, 2024 5:43 amIs the 2022 Jdm Steez A 2 the same as the 2023 USDM STEEZ A 2?

Thanks for the info, it’s hard to tell in photos because the lighting makes it look darker.

All the daiwa promotional photos for it make it look super dark grey but the product photos on tacklewarehouse show the same blueish grey that the jdm one is so i’m pretty sure they’re the same color if not then it’s gonna be very close.Real Pudd legend wrote: ↑Sun Feb 04, 2024 5:03 amThanks for the info, it’s hard to tell in photos because the lighting makes it look darker.
NGL i kinda regret my a2, idk why i was expecting daiwa to do more and actually change something significant in the design but when you boil it down it’s just the 6 year old steez a with a fresh coat of paint, magz boost and the new gearing cut is kinda neat but I regret not just buying another zillion. The zillion as it stands makes the steez A obsolete for me.

I received my A2 today and damn this thing is smooth. Has that Magseal feel but the color is nice and pretty happy with the reel.
I have had a few zillion Gs and only 1 was smooth and lasted the others all got rough quick… bad luck I guess lol

Can’t say anything about the USDM zillion G since all of mine are JDM models and i’ve been fishing them hard in the salt as my primary spottie reels, they still feel like butter and i liked them enough to own 3 at one point (2 regular zillions + 1 silverwolf). I did have a zillion G brass gearset i swapped into my original steez A go buzzy within a few months (the original alu gear set in the reel I’ve abused since 2017 is still completely smooth i just wanted to try the new hyperdrive gearing and change the reel to a 6:1) and there have been other reports of USDM zillions getting buzzy here and there so i think those are to blame. The alu gears in the jdm ones have held up fine. Daiwas bread and butter has been alu gears while shimano bread and butter seems to be brass.Real Pudd legend wrote: ↑Sun Feb 04, 2024 6:34 pmI received my A2 today and damn this thing is smooth. That is correct the the USDM zillions were the ones that I had that were buzzy and just plain rough. The JDM one I had was butter
