I do own the Tatula SV TW 70 in left hand. Just curious if the Alpha SV TW 800 use the same frame as the SV TW 70, or are they 2 different reels.
Since having the SV TW 70, not sure if adding a SV TW 800 in left hand will be beneficial if both reels are very similar but with differences.

Re: Daiwa Tatula SV TW 70 & Daiwa Alphas SV TW 800 Question
Mag dial is in the middle of the palm plate on the Tatula 70, not the bottom edge like the Alphas. Spools are identical, except the Tat 70 spool has a solid shaft. I have 2 alphas sv tw and 2 Tat 80, and the Tats actually cast a little further with 5/16 and up. The mag-z braking just plain casts further vs SV braking profile. The Tat 80 holds more line, too. Put it this way, I sold my Tat 70 because it was basically the same reel as the alphas, but kept the Tat 80 reels.

Thank you, that was the answer I was looking for. So I'm not really gaining much if I buy an Alpha SV TW

Btw, the Tat 80 can now be had from aliexpress for under $110, if you can wait 3 weeks or so.
