All new steez sv tw

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

I'll buy it for the line guide alone. Bout time. Curious to find out what ultimate brake and ultimate spool might be.

Looks good. Hyper is out, ultimate is in. I think I will wait for TT user judgments.

I really like what I’m seeing. A fresh update to the Steez Sv Tw 1016. Quite a few new Ultimatecasting terms too, but I don’t really see any significant differences from the current desings with those added terms. Could be the same thing as it was with Hyperdrive design, where nothing was actually new and they just rebranded already existing features, some of which were released nearly 25 years ago. Nevertheless, I’m getting one at some point. Should be slightly more finesse capable than the old one, but not as finesse oriented as the Steez Ct, which is fine.

Not too drastic changes with this one imo, but here’s some (real) features I found new/changed compared to the old one:
- Seems to be an all new frame somewhat combining the shape with Steez Sv Tw and Steez Ct Sv, so the old frame shape is still there, but it’s slimmer like the Ct
- 32mm spool instead of 34mm, capacity being now 12lbs 40-80m which is the same as 105 and 1012 spools are, so there is about 20% less capacity than in the 1016 spool of Steez Sv Tw
- Drag clicker (finally!)
- Aluminium drag star instead of the cheap feeling Zaion that it was previously
- Sv-Boost spool and that small rubber seal next to the spool bearing
- Handle is 85mm wide while I think ot was 80mm with the slower gear ratios before

This one has my attention. I just may be an early adopter of this latest Steez iteration. It looks like they didn't move away from the original spool width that has been around since the TDX introduction, but went with a smaller diameter. This reel appears to have spool compatibility with the 1st gen Air reels due to that spool dimater and width. I almost wish that they had also moved to the narrow frame like the Steez CT and Alphas TW, only with a larger 32mm diameter, like the Alphas TW. imo, they missed a golden opportunity to call the Steez CT a new Pixy and keep that legacy alive.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

Like the 32mm spool, leaves other spool options. Steez SV TW frame, Steez CT side plates kinda shape 🤔. Hope the cost isn't good to be outrageous, but I'm definitely interested.

I wish the video had it next to other models to get a better idea of the dimensions. Regardless, they won't be able to get much smaller or smoother I would assume. We have got to be close to a plateau/pinnacle of fishing reel technology.

Are they trolling with this ultimatecasting put on every part of the reel, or have they hired the 13fishing marketing team? Seemed very amateur to me. Ultimatecasting zero adjuster :laugh1: you are not even supposed to use it, and it ultimate casts for you. What the hell.

As for the reel, i am glad there's a refresh, its about time, but its hard to see any differences from the original. I don't like how they're abandoning the 34mm spools, i do think its the best diameter for an all around reel. Design wise the new steel reminds me of a mix of thr 21 zillion and the steez tw.

Daiwa introduces new reel.

Claims to upgrade from ‘hyper’ to ‘ultimate’.

Still has ‘hyper’ written on the side plate. Lol

Never change, Daiwa.

Based on the website it looks like it'll be 77200 Yen. Exchange rate has that around 517 USD. Factoring in importing and stuff it'll probably be 600-700 MSRP. Yipee
