Midway USA Shimano mystery box

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

There's no guarantee on how much of that $500 value is tackle and how much of it is the reel. So I'd be wary, I wouldn't want to spend over 300 bucks on a $250 reel and assorted tackle...

Funny, the first comment says "They give you an SLX". Not sure if it is a genuine comment or someone trolling. Was marked down to $325 area now. For a US Metanium and some lures/line I would be happy with that deal.

I liked the mystery box idea for lures, still swear I had that idea first in college, but I don't know about other items. Reels are picked for specifics, matching to techniques, same with lines. You could say the same about lures, but you can generally find a way to make them work.

Speaking generally, assorted tackle always seems to end up being items that shops can't sell so they just off-load them into a "mystery box". So you end up with 1 decent lure and 5 or 6 other misc items that will sit on a shelf.
Always learning...

So true. Or you get the colors that don't sell. I know someone is never working another day in their life though for coming up with mystery boxes. Not just fishing, but a ton of those monthly product subscriptions have made many people big money...
