2024 Metanium DC

My 24 metanium DC is the first Shimano I bought that has an aluminum MM gear, I've always read about the old "Metanium gear buzz", Some guys have no issues with it, but some guys end up replacing them with the trusted brass main gear set. I read somewhere that this new aluminum main gear is supposed to be new and improved over the old one and currently installed in the Metanium Shallow Edition as well as the new Aldebaran BFS. I guess we'll find out.

New ones have a bit more “meat” behind the teeth. The old ones were comically thin behind the teeth which is what I think was the cause of the buzzy developing so fast

Good news is if you did want to do a brass gear swap it’s much cheaper to do this time around. Before you needed the curado k main gear + metanium pinion + curado k drag washer which was like $55-$60 all said and done this time a brass 2020 metanium gearset (the current met uses the brass chronarch mgl main gear + brass 18 bantam pinion as its stock gearset) is like less than $30
