Monofilament for Avid Crankbait rod

Post by adriancean » Sat Oct 01, 2011 1:58 am

Hi. What monofilament do you recommend I use on a crankbait rod Avid MHM? I prefer to have low memory, almost zero and very good knot strength.
Until next time....Tight Lines!

Look into some Sunline Supernatural ;) It's hard to even ask for anything more in a line... maybe the sensitivity of fluoro would be nice, but that would be too much

I switched over to flouro and have not look back. I use it on my avid, and mojo crankbait rods.

I've never used fluoro. I have no experience with it, i do not know how to behave. What fluoro you use?

Fluoro works good in most applications but I still prefer mono for most crank baits. With that said, if I need to get a bait a bit deeper or if I am not fishing around heavy cover I will use fluoro. It does have its place in crank bait fishing.

With mono, I stick with 12lb P-line.

Another vote for Sunline Supernatural. That's some really good stuff. Keep in mind that it's a "class line" when selecting, so pay attention to line diameter. I substitute 20lb Supernatural where I would use 12lb P-Line CXX and 16lb supernatural is slightly thinner than 10lb P-Line CXX...

x4 Supernatural..
I don't like mono much, but if I had to use it, that's what it'd be.
