Agreed...Elite in 10lb is my go to for open water. Have taken a 33 lbs Laker and 47" Northern on that line. In fact Ive never had a knot failure or a line break. 100% confidence. What more could you ask for?

I mostly use Berkley XL, with no problems. It's very smooth casting. Though, Berkley Sensation is the best I ever tried. It's just hard to find.

My favorites are Berkley XT and Suffix Siege. Just started with the Siege this year, have fished XT for many years now. Next year ALL my spinning reels will get Siege, casting reels I'm sticking to XT.
