Sufix Tritanium Plus. It's what a bunch of the East Coast guys use for surf fishing. Abrasion resistance is amazing and the breaking strength in relation to diameter as well. I'll have to give McCoy a shot though, haven't tried it before.

Defier. Armilo for topwaters.
CXX is the only line I have ever taken the time to put back on the spool to return for refund. I didn't want the stuff taking up space in our land fill.

Lol
Cxx many like but for me it was just way to unmanageable to be useful

I agree on the Cxx being unmanageable. It fished great the first trip, but it was a mess after that.

Yozuri Hybrid works for me. It can get get a little unruly at times but some KVD L&L seems to help tame the beast. It's more sensitive and lower stretch than some other copoly's I have tried.

Spinning or casting? On a spinning reel it is useless. I had no issues on a casting reel without line conditioner.

I use 8lb CXX for most of my cranking. In that diameter I have not had any problems with managebility. Very abrasion resistant and very strong. I fish mainly rocky areas.

I can totally see how CXX would be a pain on a spinning rig as far a manageability. I use 25# straight on a Lexa 300 w/no problems. All the rest of my CXX useage is as leader material.

How is the stretch and memory on CXX compared to Silver Thread Excaliber and Mccoy?

I find that CXX is more abrasion resistant than Excalibur and also seems to have less stretch. However the Excalibur is far more manageable and has less memory. I prefer the Excalibur on spinning reels. No experience with McCoys.

I'd like to know what the diameter of the CXX 8lb actually is... without knowing the actual diameters, line comparisons are meaningless.

CXX 8lb is 0.3mm. This is equivalent to a lot of other 10 and 12 lb lines. For instance CX Premium 12lb is 0.29mm and Gamma Copolymer 10lb is also 0.29mm.
