Take a look at 16:25 for a demo on how not to use a spinning reel. Reeling against drag induces major line twist.

Take a look at 29:00 for a demo on how it should be done.

Reeling while the drag is engaged is something I thought most people learned not to do during their early spincast days..yeesh $\:D/$
