Japan lure shop but the invisible and BMS look to only come in spools of less than 100 yards.

Seaguar tatsu is great for spinning reels. I also made the switch from sniper and havent looked back. Only downside is tatsu is quite expensive

Re: Best fishing line for the specific techniques
Is there any reason why Tatsu wouldn't make a good line for Drop Shot
Re: Best fishing line for the specific techniques
That's what I mainly use it for. It holds up well around rock, its very manageable, and is as sensative as Sniper in my hands. It handles better than Sniper and I get a full season out of it. I love 6lb on spinning reels for dropshot and finesse techniques.Jdmbassman wrote:Is there any reason why Tatsu wouldn't make a good line for Drop Shot

I wouldn't use 11lb anything for buzzbaits. Your looking to get your feelings hurt if a big fish or big smallie slams it.

Re: Best fishing line for the specific techniques
My brother wants some new walleye jigging line for our June fishing trip up in Canada. I told him he needs to try Fluorocarbon and bought him a TW gift card for Christmas.
What specific line and specific lb test (available at TW.com) do you guys recommend for the following setup:
7' Medium Rod
3000 size spinning reel, so line management is a factor, but not most important.
1/4-3/8 oz jigs with mostly 2-3" twister tails or minnow swimbait trailers.
He mainly vertical jigs with a bit of casting and dragging, so sensitivity is important.
I'm sure we will be fishing a lot of rock piles, so abrasion resistance and durability are key, along with knot strength to pull out jigs wedged between 2 rocks.
I was thinking 12lb or 15lb Fluoro but I'm not sure which specific one will suit him best.
Tatsu?
Sniper?
Invizx?
Abrazx?
Please help.
Thanks,
DaveJ

Re: Best fishing line for the specific techniques
For jigging 'eyes in June I use a 12lbs braid with 14" 8 lbs fluoro leader attached with small swivel to help avoid line twist. Walleye in June are pretty aggressive and will hit on almost any line presentation. My son ties braid direct to jig and except for some line twist, his catch rate has never suffered. Dont "over think" the requirements. A sensitive, fast action rod with braid is all you need.
If you are not boating 100+ a day, change your technique....lindy rig or slow death and dont sweat the line.

Get the Tatsu while its on sale at TW. Normally I'd recommend Sniper. 15# might be a little much.

Re: Best fishing line for the specific techniques
What line do people use to throw 1/4oz to 3/8oz Swim Jigs ?
Re: Best fishing line for the specific techniques
Depends on the cover. In heavy grass, I like braid. Other than that, I like 12 to 16 lb Sniper depending on the weight of the rig.Jdmbassman wrote:What line do people use to throw 1/4oz to 3/8oz Swim Jigs ?

For Swimjigs, do you want a line with some stretch like Sniper or no stretch like Shooter ?
