What line should I try next for dropshotting on a spinning setup? I've used j-braid, sunline castaway pe. I prefer the castaway, but would like to try something else. Looking at either sunline sx1 or sufix 832. I want a line that offers great casting distance and has a tendency to sink/suspend. I've read both lines don't float as much as other braids.

SX1 12lb w/ 7 or 8lb fluoro leader

I like the SX-1, between those 2, as I don't like the "roughness" of the 832 on light gear...Side note..Daiwa Samurai in 15lb. or Seaguar Smackdown in 15 or 20 is really nice...limp and manageable, on a level that the others are not...

i use 16lb sx1 for everything now. Tried j-braid on spinning and i really didnt like it, used samurai 15lb i broke off too many times.

I would think bite detection would be your #1 priority in which case NanoFil followed by fused Fireline would be my spinning lines of choice.

I really like the SX-1 12lb. in yellow with a 7lb. Sniper leader. SX-1 is not too soft or not too stiff. I had a few wind knots magically appear with the softer braids. I found that the thicker/stiffer braids tend to stick to themselves on the vertical drop.

I like Tuf Line, and I have tried a lot of brands!

I switched from power pro super slick to sunline sx 1 and settled on the 16lb. I popped off the 12 lb sx1 a few times and found the 16lb a little better for strength and abrasion resistance around docks were I do a lot of drop shotting.

i am using 20lb pp on my sustain but i was also wondering if anyone ever try anything below the 10lb braid like fireline 6-8 lbs??

15# Daiwa Samurai Braid or Sufix Performance Braid

I use PP SS8 in 10# test and a FC leader, works well for my use.

My braid of choice has been 18# samurai with a flouro leader of 4 to 12# depending on cover and expected bass size. Has worked great since Samurai is so thin and limp.

I'm using Fused Fireline 6 & 10 lb with a 6lb clear mono or 8lb florcarbon leaders and really like it. Strong and very sensitive
