Sunline Armilo

Post by Montanaro » Sat Jan 30, 2016 11:11 am

Im preparing for next year and im looking at buying 13 pound armilo.

I plan to put it on a rod I would use for topwater, hard/soft jerkbaits, and ocassionally spybaits.

Has anyone used it for jerkbaits or is it too bouyant?

Also, I use sunline reaction FC on my reaction bait setup. But Armilo is cheaper, has same diameter, and claims the same benefits in low stretch /abrasion resistance/ castability. Is there any reaso I shouldnt try it for my singke hook reaction bait rod?

Scroll back a few pages and you will see a few threads on this line. I like it a lot for topwater. It works for jerkbaits, but does add buoyancy. The low stretch is nice for hooksets on a long cast.

This is exactly what I use (13lb) for my topwaters and jerkbaits - I used it all last year and really liked it. It does add bouncy but I tend to fish jerkbaits fairly fast, probably too fast at times.

I'm using it for all my shallow crankbaits: topwater, squarebills, & jerks. Easy to cast and durable. Using 13# and 16#. Also using it with swimbaits and swimjigs. Great line.

I use it with all my topwater and suspending baits. Also throw my lipless cranks with it. I have even used it for working a texas rig, in a pinch. No matter what I have used it for, I have always been impressed.
