Sunline FX2 froggin
Sunline FX2 froggin
Thinking about picking some 60# up for froggin and punching. Anyone use the stuff? The TW reviews are all over the place.
Re: Sunline FX2 froggin
Don't expect a real soft line like Smackdown or 832. It is a little bit rougher and stiffer, but it will fray less if you fish hard objects. It's tough stuff. It gets better as you fish it.
I don't care for the super limp/soft lines because you get more tip wrap/wind knots and they don't hold up over time. It's an 8 carrier line. It's not as stiff as Daiwa X-4.

Re: Sunline FX2 froggin
It's my favorite frogging line and currently use it.
Like it better than these others i have tried: power pro, 832, smackdown, samurai

Right on. I was using 65# 832, I thought it was strong and casted well, I didn't care for how fast it faded. I'm intruiged by the low diameter and blue/green color of the fx2 it will look sweet on my reels. I was also eyeing the viscous no fade braid, the line got great reviews but is out of stock until July at TW.

Thank you both for the replies I'm going to pull the trigger
Re: Sunline FX2 froggin
only braid i'll use....nothing to complain about it...i use it for frogs/jigs/paddletails/spinnerbaits/chatterbaits...holds up well..casts great....i'll use the same line for 3 or more seasons easily....

Re: Sunline FX2 froggin
Fx2 is much better than braided lines I've used in past. Used Fx2 for about 7 years now, and not changing anytime soon. It's nice and round, doesn't dig in, has good abrasion quality and knot strength is good. Color stays better than other brands also. I prefer the blue/green because it's easier to see the line move during slack, vs full green. Fx2 for spinnerbaits, chatterbaits and frogs... Just buy it.

Nice! I took advantage of the 10%off sale at TW went with the 60# blue/green 300yd spool. Its gonna look sicky. I might try it on a jig rod too. Picked up a couple jackall kaera frogs too. They seem sweet.
Re: Sunline FX2 froggin
I will echo many of the positive comments - strong, good diameter and holds its color very well. For years I have pulled big fish out of heavy slop with the 50lb with XH frog rod and have never had an issue.

Word. Looking forward to using it. I spooled some 60# on my chronarch mgl XG today. Its gonna be a sec before I actually get to frog with it. Probably throw a big creature with a punch skirt first.
