Braid for SS Air

Post by filbertuk » Mon Apr 27, 2020 7:31 am

I got a new SS Air recently- my first premium finesse reel... Looking forward to giving it a whirl after current lockdown (UK). I’ll be in the main using small crankbaits up to 6g for perch / chub in a medium sized river - and then moving on to TRD creatures / worms etc as temps drop later in the year.. Gone for MC Dangan flouro but after a braid to try as well over time. Any recommendations? I’m aware of Daiwa advice on use of braid, but would expect to be safe with 10 lb max? Cheers.

Braided line is fine with the SS AIR. Make sure you dont tighten your drag super tight and also pull snags with your hand instead of the reel.

I like to use a FC leader when using braid. The thin braid isnt very abrasion resistant.
