Suffix 832 issues

I opened a new spool of 832 today and have had issues with the knot slipping and pulling loose, have they changed the coating? I have used an improved clinch knot without issues in past and today I had issues getting it to hold and had issues with the Berkley braid knot as well.

I have never had the improved clinch knot hold with any type of braid I've used over the years(and was always told that it wouldn't hold with braid). I use a modified uni knot myself and it has never slipped or broken.

I've never had issues before, I do add additional twists so maybe that's why I've never had issues before and usually use heavier braid. I just thought it was weird that the Berkley braid knot didn't hold either until the third try since that knot is for braid. Maybe it's the 2020 curse

I also never used cinch or improved cinch with any braid due to slippage. I use 832 on all my setups in 8-40lb range. Palomar never failed me.

I'm beginning to think that's it, I had to tie 3 Berkley braid knots again until it held on the last one, the knot held with no issues on the fx2 but what doesn't on 65lb test.

Had the same knot slippage problem with 832 this year, went to palomar and have not had any problems.

OP, just because I'm curious... what length of tag line did you leave with the knot?

Every once in a while...Braids and fluorocarbon lines remind me that I have to pay extra attention to my knot tying. Fluorocarbon lines will slip. Braids will pinch and cut itself on the knot if it's not slipping.

Run the line through the eye of hook twice and tie a uni knot. Will never slip with braid.

My method as well, have never had braid slip. The night before, I also tie a overhand knot on the tag end (.5-1cm) as an insurance. I never do this on the water though.
