Line for old spincast reel

Post by Jgill0056 » Mon Mar 07, 2022 5:29 pm

Looking at mono for an old spincast reel and bamboo setup I have for kayak fishing. I've read alot of mono line recommendation posts but most aren't aimed at spincast. I'm looking at suffix, sunline, or stren. Any help would be appreciated.

The spincast reels do a lot better with the softer monos. I used to use the cheap Zebco Omniflex from Wal-Mart for the kids Spiderman and Lightning McQueen spincast combos when they were 3 and 4. The line isn't that bad. I didn't mind replacing it everyday or every few hours during the day when the kids would destroy their line. Trilene XL works well also. Sunline Supernatural is a good value when you start getting into the better monos.
