What is your goto Deep Diving Crank

Post by Stratos » Sun Oct 16, 2011 10:05 am

I fish a few shallow lakes in Missouri and bigger bass seem to be on deeper Brush. I use a wide range of DD cranks and I catch a few, but looking to get a steady bite. Since it is a shallow lake the brush I fish is usally 12 to 20 foot range. The lake is usually muddy water but since it is fall, it has gotten a little more clear. The Crappie have been invading the shallows and competing with the bass for food, so that is why I am concentrating on a little deeper water. I use a few DD Johns, Wiggle Warts, Strike KIngs, and Lucky Crafts. I was just wondering what some people would suggest as far as color, brand, and size. Thanks

Just a couple of comments, as everyone has their favorites..but here is a couple of things I know...

1. Nothing casts like the Spro Little John DD--I will just about guarantee this...

2. Nothing seems to hug the bottom harder than a Luhr-Jensen 3/4oz. Hot Lips...

I'm not much of a cranker but was wondering which lakes you fished?

I used to be a big Normans guy. Love the variety of depths and colors. Just recenlty I have been fishing the Strike King 5XD and 6XD and I absolutely love them. I think they come through brush much better.

Got to love the SPRO Little John's too but for $5.00 the 5XD and 6XD are awesome.

Indian Hills Lake and Goose Creek are the two I fish majority of the time. I love fishing Table Rock, just don't like the drive so I only go there once in spring and once in the fall. I don't care for Lake of the Ozarks, but I have a friend of a friend that has a place there so I end up going there once a year.

Cool but I've never heard of those places lol. I'm right in the middle of table rock, grand, Stockton, beaver etc etc. Ever end up down here again lmk. Maybe we could wet a line.

You live next to all the great lakes in MO, =D> . I live in the City of St. Louis. I probably won't be back to TRL until spring. Tight lines
