what's your guys favorite walk the dog bait?

as the title asks. I am terrible with that technique and am looking for baits that don't require much to make them walk. also what rods are you using?

MB speed slide and IMA skimmer. Rod is a 6'6" med fast with 20lbs braid.

i have always found Heddon topwater baits very easy to walk such as the excalibur, spit n image, zara spook.. etc
i usually use a loomis cbr721 but i also enjoy using light to medium weight spinning gear as well. 6'0" - 6'6"

...a custom with a short handle. The LPs get thrown on a White Python with a Z2020.

Keep working on walking the dog...it has become a favorite for me and very productive.

I will always love my Zara Spooks and it was my favorite until the Super Spook Jr. came out and it is now my favorite walking bait. For me the Zara puppy is a good bait but too small but this super spook jr. is perfect, big enough to get the attention of big fish and still small enough that those quality 14" and 15" fish will still bite. Plus I really like the hooks with split rings instead of the hook hangers, that was a big improvment.

The light braid should help a ton. Imagine twitching the slightly slack line instead of the bait.

X2! Can't think of anything else that is easier to walk, and as effective as the Zara Spook Jr.
When I first started learning how to walk the dog, I started with spinning gear with mono, and ripped the bait to my side to get the lure to walk. Very addicting and deadly!

Zara Spook is what I learned on in my younger days.

Sammys are nice, but for the money I have found the Rapala X-Walks work well for me and catch fish just about as well (not quite as many, but close). To each his own though.
