If I had to narrow it two companies I would probably pick the same. That said I tend to be loyal to certain baits over produce lines though there companies like Matzuo that I tend to avoid because of a poor initial impression. Even Lucky Craft who offers a number of terrific baits has turned out some clunkers.

Rapala has a a nice combination of finishes, actions, quality and price. A SOLID company top to bottom. I like luckycrafts offerings more, and the colors and actions are better IMO, but just too pricey for me. I would rather invet the money in something I won't lose, like a reel or rod, and use nice BUT NOT CHEAP lures. No BPS or Lucky Stike for me. If I go cheap its Bomber, Normans, or Heddon.

Rapala is my #1 and Lucky Craft is a close close 2nd... Only thing for me that is keeping Lucky Craft out of #1 position is I can't physically see a lot of their product catalog in person seeing as I can't find a good distributor in SW PA.

I've been obsessed with megabass lures over the last year. They've worked great for me for smallies and largemouth even small cranks on trout. It doesn't hurt the finish on them is exquisite almost too pretty to fish lol. There will always be a place in my heart for rattlin rapalas they were my absolute favorite growing up.
