How to store jerkbaits with out damaging them?

Post by Shim_Dai_Ano_Wa » Tue Jan 01, 2013 1:11 pm

Anyone have a recommendation on a storage case for jerk baits.

I'm getting tired of having to untangle them and finding chip marks on my baits

Check out the Plano FTO Elite Large Crankbait Organizer. If you can find them, the old Shimano boxes have a cult following.

I've started using small dental rubber bands on all my hard baits. I band the hooks together, this hold them tight to the body of the bait and keeps them from tangling nearly as much. I bent a paper clip to easily hook the rubber bands on and will leave them on until after I tie the bait on my line. This makes the palomar knot much easier to tie. You can buy 1000 rubber bands for around $10 on ebay.

I find the MEDIUM Plano FTO Perfect!! The compartments are gently curved at the bottom and "nestle" the Jerkbaits well!

Treble hook covers may not be a bad idea although if you switch baits constantly through the day they may become a little cumbersome.

Try to find some Falcon 709 boxes.......try is the key word.

Otherwise, liek someone said, store them in the large crank bait Plano FTO boxes.
