Your Favorite Discontinued Bait
Your Favorite Discontinued Bait
Just realized that one of my favorite hard baits, the Rapala Crankin' Rap is getting harder and harder to find online...
I'm not sure, but I am beginning to wonder if it might get discontinued.
This would really hurt my fishing since I use them a lot, especially in certain colors.
Can any of you recall any baits that you really miss, and wish it would be brought back?
How did you "cope" with your loss?
In the meantime, I am ordering a boat load of them just in case...

I really enjoyed the Blue Fox buzzbait. Had a clacker that just made the right sound to make bass go crazy. Got a 5 bass limit of 47 pounds on it one day, and was my best buzzer ever. The company was eventually swallowed up in one of those corporate take overs, and they stopped making them.
Searched stores all over the world, internet, and word of mouth never found one again.
Still use the clacker type buzzbait, but nothing that sounds like the original.

Yo-Zuri Pin's Minnow, the 2" and 2 3/4"
Oh, they are still being made, I was referring to the colors. I like the older models that had the FOIL finish on them. They were more reflective in the water. Its to bad they don't make those ones anymore. The newer colors are ok, but I miss those foil ones.

Storm Sub Wart! Many don't know it but that bait is a river smallmouth killer, especially in stained water! I would include the Manns Waker elite but I was able to get enough of those to last for some time.

Strike King Timber Buzz (Some people liked the Herb's Dilly) They come through the grass.
Manns Mannipulator Ribbontail Worm Can you say tail action?
Mister Twister Slimy Slug(Sluggo type bait) It was a major participant in the original sluggo craze.
Rapala Floating Husky Minnow lure(balsa) It is a balsa minnow that will flat out cast.
Manns Waker Elite crankbait. This bait is a flat out fish catcher on a burning retrieve. I would love a small version.
Yozuri Bass Army Walking Bait. I have two sizes, but I lost the purple and chrome one that repeatedly beat down other walking lures.
Bagley's B flat. It might still be made in a "new" form but I have 10 in the box from 1990 that are staying locked up.

Amen. Yo Zuri has a knack for making a winner and either messing with the colors or flat out discontinuing itPhantasy_Fishing wrote:Yo-Zuri Pin's Minnow, the 2" and 2 3/4"

recently discontinued, the smithwick limited rogue. other rogues are ok, but the limited for some reason out fishes them every time, the black/gold/orange belly (king midas) and black/silver/orange belly (hot rod) are among my best spring/fall walleye producers. i looked almost everywhere and only found a couple of the silver ones, then found a stash of gold ones, and now have 8 gold NIB hanging on the wall, and a few silvers..and will add more when i find them.
