Duo Realis vs MB 110?

Post by iliketofishman » Wed Nov 16, 2016 12:24 am

I own many MB baits and quite a few 110s. Just curious since I've never used a Realis how it compares to the MB in terms of quality and fish catchability.

I know you didn't ask but... I've caught more fish on my Shadow Raps than the 100.

I bought several 110s to see what the fuss was about. No doubt they catch fish! IME the shadow raps just seem to be more consistent and the ability to fish them a little deeper really makes a difference.

Different baits... 110 is more a walking side to side much like the 100sp DUO...
The 120 DUO is more a SLASH bait where it has a heavier belly roll...
the 110 is a mix Slash bait/walking side to side bait.. Great Bait
Ive just been using the 100sps a Ton over the last couple years...

That Shadow Rap Shad is one bad bait..
i have not used the MB but have many 110 and 120SP NEITHER is missing a thing in terms of quality... Duo does it right..

as mentioned above, the visions 110 is best compared to the duo 100sp. I prefer duo most times. putting color aside, I think duo has better hooks and are very sturdy baits. The bill is also very strong and did not crack the many times I have thrown my back into a cast only for the bill to take the full force of the cast right onto riprap. The bill bent outta shape a little, but I shaped it back with needle nose pliers. The mb 110 bills are more brittle. In terms of action, I do like the rolling action of the duo better than the mb 110 on a straight retrieve. I tend to mix up jerking with two or three crank retrieves, so this is an added bonus for me. In moving water If I had on a duo 100 sp, I would not think about switching to the mb 110. However, if I had a mb 110, I would think about switching to the duo.

I like both I've caught more bass on the 110 but better size on the duo realis 120. The duo 120sp seems to catch bigger than average fish. I changed out my line recently on my jerkbait rod from FC Sniper 12lb to Yo Zuri Hybrid 10lb and have been having a big issue with the front hook on the duo 120sp catching the line. It seems to be happening on 50% of my retrieves and is so frustrating I stopped using them for now.

I also have the duo 100sp but it doesn't cast as well as the 120sp or mb 110 because it doesn't have the weight transfer system.
