ULTIMATE PAN FISH LURE RIG

Post by big_bass_spinner » Fri Jul 09, 2004 10:58 am

O.k., you want some fun?

Take a small 2 inch or whatever rapala (perch or sunfish patern) and remove the rear treble hook. attach a 6 inch piece of 11 pound test line. Attach a tiny jig head and a add to that a tiny trout craw or tube.

toss and rip, puase and rip, and bang you've got some sunnies and perch to boot! :D :D :D

My favorite pan fish lure is a Rooster Tail

They are available at most tackle shops and work great for covering a lot of water quickly. Just match the color to the water or prevalent prey item and you are set. This is usually the first lure I use when scouting out a new pond.

sound awesome...not only can you get a panfish but it might attract a big boy too.

Yep, they come in a variety of sizes, so they are good for bass and perch too.

Don't forget about the old reliable Beetle Spin. It's a pan fish getter.

Rebel cricket hopper cannot be beat, however, the rig I described above is actually more fun. I got the idea 15 years ago when they showed how to rig it on the In-Fisherman television program. Still my favourite show by the by!

I have great luck with a tiny ice jig loaded with maggots or a big fat meal worm. They NEVER turn their noses up at this offering.
