This isn't looking promising. But if they are shipping that makes me feel a little better.

If you gave Airrus a credit card # watch your statement!

They were supposed to charge me for just an up-grade from an Ultra XL to Puls-R + shipping = $66.50

But they hit me for $97.50 twice or $195. Brandy assured me that it was fixed Thursday. But I just talked to my cc company and nothing was ever even attempted to be fixed.

So I stopped all payments to them until it is fixed even though the rod was shipped Thursday.

:(

I love Airrus rods but this kind of thing is disturbing to say the least. Now that Ken is gone it appears Castaway is playing the role of corporate wrecker. What a shame. I sure hope Ken lands on his feet somewhere else so he can continue his good work of producing quality affordable fishing rods that I can afford. snidley

Take em back, yer money's no good 'round herrr.

Seriously, the natural inlay or pattern in their blanks is stunning, such a great change from all the boring dark gray blanks on most other rods I see, and own. Hypallon, thermallon, kicks the crap out of any foam i've tried. And even when cork is used it's some of the best I've seen, second only to the cork I got on a custom from mattman.

But apparently it's not for everyone. Not even me anymore if they don't fix things at Castaway.

Hope mine last forever, but to be safe, I've learned of a local custom builder that can make what appears to be a fine rod for a little over $200.

Is it one of them flowery MegaBass rods with all the pretty dolled up pink and purple winding checks? Hey, one man's standards are another's trash.

Actually I love the look of most Megabass, just thought that made for a funny comeback.

(Okay I'll shut up now for a few days.)

It's a Mattman custom with orange highlights to match his orange Pixilla. Very 8-)

I got the same exact thing for my black/orange Presso! It's sweet, but the tip broke and was repaired. Still looks awesome and fishes great.
