line suggestions

I need line suggestions for my worm and jig rods.

The last few years I have used Sunline Snipper. For some reason the new stuff I got (6 spools) has been all garbage including the machine gun.

I have tried yo-zuri hybrid, Trilene Maxx, and a few others.

Any one got any suggestions on line that is suitably for worm and jig applications. I am open to any suggestions except braid. Most of my rigs are are G-Loomis BCR rods with the butt ugly line guides.

I'm a braid guy myself, but I tried P-Line CX on my finesse rig and love it.

DR,
I use PLine CX and YoZuri Ultra Soft for most of these applications. For heavier stuff I go with SilverThread.

P Line CXX is the only line I have ever stripped off a reel back onto the spool and returned to the vendor. Found it to be to stiff and had too much memory.
Now, granted this was for spinning not baitcasting, just wanted to give my impression of P Line.

Have you tried toray superhard upgrade? Slick, Very manageable and tough as a door nail. 150m spool, It's marked at halfway point at 75meter. I am using 12lb test at the moment. I am having tough time biting off the line during retying. With ginrin gone, I am down to my last half spool without any source to restock.

I just spooled 6 lb PLine Evolution on my Pixy and and the 12 lb evolution on my Metanium Xt and Revo SX. Only used them on a couple of short outings. So far so good. looks to be very abrasion resistant. And it feels like it does not stretch that much. And feels a little less sensitive than Yozuri Hybrid. I'll give you and update after Sunday.

I thank you all for your suggestions.

I had a line clean out party in my fishing room last night. I threw away every partial spool of line I had except the Yo-zuri Hybrid.

I spooled my med worm and jig rods with 12 lb and the m/h rods with 15 lb.

We shall see.

Thanks again.

Sunline is old news. I made a post about it a few months back. It broke very easily and didn't handle well at all. As you said, it's garbage.

I really like Sufix Promix for jigs and plastics. 14lb test is what i use.

Dan,

Have you ever compared Seaguar Carbon pro to INVISX? My brother uses invisx and likes it a lot. I might have to join you and him in using Seaguar line.

DR,

You should give BPS XPS flourocarbon a try. I have used it for the past few years for everything but topwater. I have tried a lot of the top flourocarbons and it is my favorite. It did pretty well in the flourocarbon review. The 12lb test is perfect on the BCR803. I caught a 7lber this weekend and was only worried about the fish shaking off. I use 8lb test on all my pixy's for jighead worm fishing. I have caught bass up to 9lbs on the 8lb test. Never any breakoff issues. I have 10lb test on all my conquest 50 setups for smaller plastics. I use 14lb test on my BCR804 set up for football head jigs. I love this line and you can not beat the price.
