Shimano Chronarch 100B is leading the race and the Daiwa Zillion is a close second! :D

I just got my Shimano Antares DC7 last friday. It put a big smile on my face...what a reel! I already loved my Revo SX but this reel is from another planet. It's actually worth the insane amount of money.

The underlying spirit of angling,Is that the skill of the angler,Is pitted against the instinct and strenght of the fish,And the later is intitled to an even chance for his life...Regards Hardb8.

I've been really happy with my Fuego and Curado casting reels. Symetre spinning reels. Haven't tried anything higher end than those though.

Certainly not the most exotic nor expensive BUT overall package:

ALPHAS 103L

But if I could only have 1 reel to Robinson Crusoe with:

Antares AR - Left
"What!!??...How Much!!??...But I Only Want One!!!"

spinning- diawa exceler- dunked dropped, mistreated, still works 100%
casting- team daiwa advantage- dunked once but not mistreated-yet.
both never a problem.

It would have to be the daiwa tdx with the new tdz nipping at it's heel. Revo stx not in contention. Like the daiwa viento as well.

I have quite a few fancier and pricier reels but my favorite is a pretty simple, cheap reel. Its ergonomic for me, performs well, and has caught many fish. Pflueger Contender 7540x. Useage: inshore and shore saltwater for casting or baitsoaking.

I have braid on it now so I don't use it all the time (snags).
